The people have spoken and the final results are in. The losers don't like the more common red and blue states map saying it is not a true reflection of the voters because it covers area not people. So we are using a map depicting how each county voted. I suppose they will probably have a problem with that also. Be that as it may, it is an accurate reflection of the widespread support President Bush enjoyed all across the country. There are 3,141 counties, boroughs, and parishes in the US. Bush won 2,544 counties [81 percent] compared to Kerry's 597 [19 percent].

When it became apparent that President Bush had won, Democrats and their supporters were saying the FIRST priority of the President should be to reach out to them [the Democrats] and gain their support for his next four years.
HELLO! What is there about reality that Democrats don't understand? The President won - - they lost! Don't you think THEY should be the ones doing the reaching out?
The President won 286 electoral votes to Kerry's 252 - - 31 states to Kerry's 20 - - 51% to Kerry's 48% - - and a plurality of 3,497,546 votes. President Bush is the first President since 1936 to win both the popular vote, the electoral vote, AND gain seats in the Senate and House. President Bush's party also now controls a majority of the state governorships and a majority of the state legislatures. Maybe just as importantly, Senator Daschle, the Democrat minority senate leader [known as Mr. Obstructionist], was also defeated by a Republican. This is the first time this has happened in 50 years!
And the Democrats still think the President's first priority should be to reach out to them! I suggest they had better be the ones to reach out to the President - - and quickly, or otherwise risk becoming increasingly irrelevant. Go ahead, you know where he lives, you have his address, you know his telephone number. Give him a call. I'm sure he would like to hear from you.
