Don't see a pattern here to justify profiling? The majority of Muslims around the world believe we are evil and vow to destroy the Western World and especially the United States. There has been no outcry from among rank and file Muslims regarding this declaration of war upon us. The overwhelming majority of their clerics openly support this declaration of war. These people see us as a threat to their way of life. Our destruction is their most fervent wish. Tradational American tolerance and our belief in "religious freedom" or the lack of it, as the case may be, has blinded us to the nature of the threat facing us. The Muslim world is bent on our destruction and we don't really believe them.
Americans awoke to the danger when the Japanese killed 2,000 Americans at Pearl Harbor. Muslim male extremists, mostly between the ages of 17 and 40, killed over 3,000 Americans and Americans still don't really believe we are at war. Americans, by and large, believe these acts of violence are isolated acts by a few extremists.
A Democratic President called for a declaration of war after 2,000 Americans were killed at Pearl Harbor. The country, including Republicans, supported him. A Republican president says we are at war after 3,000 Americans are killed on 9/11 and a large part of the country doesn't believe him and an overwhelming majority of Democrats, but not all, play politics with his efforts to protect them.
Liberals, the ALCU, judges that legislate from the bench, news media organizations, Hollywood celebrities and their like, need to convince me that elderly grandmothers, little kids, protestant clerics, wheelchair-bound individuals, and Jewish rabbis are suicide bombers or are preparing to fly planes into crowed areas before I will concede that profiling is wrong.
